Alberta Window & Door Programs and Financing

Alberta does not currently offer a single province-wide window and door rebate available to all homeowners. However, some municipalities offer financing or energy-efficiency programs that may help homeowners complete qualifying window, door, insulation, heating, and other home upgrades.

The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) is available in participating Alberta municipalities. CEIP can finance up to 100% of eligible project costs, with repayment added to the property’s tax bill. In Calgary, residential projects can receive financing of up to $50,000, with repayment terms of up to 20 years. Energy-efficient windows are among the eligible improvements. CEIP is financing, not a rebate, and homeowners must receive approval before beginning the project.

Program availability depends on the municipality and available funding. Calgary’s residential CEIP is currently accepting sign-ups for notification when applications reopen, while Edmonton’s program is nearing capacity and placing new pre-qualification submissions on a waitlist. Homeowners should confirm current availability before planning their project around CEIP financing.

British Columbia Window & Door Rebates

Eligible B.C. homeowners can receive $100 per qualifying Tier 2 window or exterior door, up to a maximum rebate of $2,000 through the Home Renovation Rebate Program. Qualifying windows and doors must have a U-Factor of 1.22 W/m²-K or less.

Qualifying upgrades must replace existing exterior windows or doors and be professionally installed by an eligible licensed contractor. Supporting documentation, including a paid invoice and product labels, is required, and applications must generally be submitted within six months of the invoice date.

Important: homes located within the City of Vancouver municipal boundary are not eligible for the Tier 2 window and door rebate. Other B.C. communities served by AlphaTech may qualify, subject to current program and property eligibility requirements.

Manitoba Window & Door Rebates

Efficiency Manitoba offers a $100 rebate for each eligible ENERGY STAR® certified triple-pane window or door installed in a qualifying home. Income-qualified households may be eligible for an enhanced rebate of $300 per qualifying window or door through the Energy Efficiency Assistance Program.

Eligible homeowners may also have access to Manitoba Hydro financing for qualifying energy-efficiency upgrades. Program eligibility, product requirements, application deadlines, and financing conditions apply.
